Adrian, Mich. - The Saints hosted UM-Dearborn at home in the SHU Fieldhouse in the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest of the 2022 season. SHU furthered the matchup record, extending it to 16-1, in a 3-0 sweep of the visiting Wolverines.

Freshman Devyne Eisenhauer tallied 13 kills in the three-set match along with 15 digs and one ace. Kinsey Wagner put down 12 kills and collected four blocks and two digs. Setter Aubrey Bates held 34 assists, three digs, one ace, and one kill. SiAyera Boone boasted five blocks alongside Olivia Norman who held six.
Set one saw a slow start from Siena as they trailed 14-4. However, a serving run from Kadie Carsten kickstarted a turnaround for the home team that continued all the way to a 25-22 victory. Maintaining control of the serve allowed the Saints to take set two in a 25-20 win and move into set three.
A battle from the first point set three saw multiple lead changes, that continued well into the upper teens. With back-to-back kills from Eisenhauer SHU created the space they needed and put Wagner on the service line. Widening the gap Wager served five balls that resulted in five Siena Heights kills, to end the set and match with a 25-19 victory.
Quote from Coach: "After a slow start, we showed some grit by working hard and coming back to win that first set. Our middles gave us a spark when they started blocking. Then we shored up the defense and created more attacking opportunities. It was nice to get contributions from so many players."
