Adrian, Mich. - Siena Heights women's volleyball won the 2022 home opener match against the visiting Spring Arbor Cougars. The match went to four sets after the Saints dropped the first, 19-25. Bouncing back SHU won the next three sets 25-17, 25-23, and 25-23. Bringing their overall record to 2-3 and 1-0 at home.

Freshman Devyne Eisenhauer, lead the Saints in kills with 12, also boasting 14 digs, one assist, and three service aces. Kinsey Wagner also tallied 12 kills while picking up four digs. Leading in the digs category was junior libero Payton Osborne, who collected 23 digs, two aces, and five assists. Junior setter Aubrey Bates continued to rack up assists bringing in 40 during the four-set match as well as eight kills and one ace.
A slow start in the match led to the Saints dropping set one to the cougars. However, Siena rallied back fighting for the victory in set two by jumping to a quick 11-3 lead thanks to a long service run from Bates.
Set three saw a point deficit for Siena but was quickly turned around during Eisenhauer's serving run. That saw two aces and a kill from both Taylor Wegener and Kinsey Wagner. The final set had two lead changes as each team fought for control. With a final push in the last five points of the game, SHU earned their first home game win with a massive kill from Eisenhauer.
Quote from Coach: "We finally played SAINT-ball!!!!!! We were tough from the service line, we played great defense and our middles were a force. Spring Arbor has a nice team, and we always have great matches against them. It was a fun match to watch and coach. Our little adjustments really made a difference."
