Valentine's Day in March: High Jumper Wins NAIA Indoor Championship

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Siena Heights high jumper Emma Valentine won the women's national championship while setting a school record during the NAIA Indoor Championships on Saturday.

Valentine's winning height was 1.77 meters (5 feet, 9 3/4 inches) as she bested the rest of the 23-woman field by more than one foot. Valentine broke the previous SHU record set by Phoenix Duncan, who cleared 5-8 3/4 in 2016.

Faith Jackson finished out her All-American season in the 60-meter hurdles with a fifth-place finish in 8.50 seconds. Like Valentine, she set a school record in her event at Nationals, running an 8.49 on Friday.
