GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A trio of Siena Heights women's indoor track and field athletes hit NAIA automatic-qualifying marks during competition at Aquinas' Flaminio Classic. The team placed first among five schools in team scoring.
Faith Jackson won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.77 seconds, Emma Valentine reached a height of 3.70 meters (5-7) in the high jump and Tyler Fugate cleared 3.70m (12-1 1/2) in the pole vault. All three women won their events.
Jackson's time was a 0.04-second improvement over her previous season-best auto. Fugate's mark was 0.02m better than her previous-best auto. Valentine's jump stamped her ticket to Nationals.
Jackson was also a winner in the 60, clocking in at 7.87.
Other winners included Linnearia Richards in the 200 (27.21), Isabelle Uganski in the 800 (2:34.80) and Tiffani Larder in the triple jump (9.77m, 32-0 3/4).
