Jackson, Fugate Grab Autos For Women's Track and Field at Saginaw

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- Faith Jackson and Tyler Fugate had NAIA automatic-qualifying performance -- Jackson did so in a winning effort -- as the Siena Heights women's track and field team began its indoor campaign at the Saginaw Valley Holiday Open.

Margherita Conrad (pole vault) and Emma Valentine (high jump) added two provisional performances.

Jackson won the 60-meter hurdles and Fugate placed second in the pole vault.

Jackson sped to a winning time of 8.81 seconds in the 60 hurdles after running the fastest prelim time of 8.89. Teammate Linnearia Richards finished the 60 hurdles in sixth (9.14 seconds) after ranking seventh through prelims (9.17).

Fugate tied for second in the vault with her auto height of 3.68 meters (12 feet, 0 3/4 inches). Conrad tied for fifth with a provisional clearance of 3.53m (11-7).

Valentine finished No. 2 in the high jump with her provisional height of 1.67m (5-7 3/4). Fellow high jumpers Rianna Vincent (1.58m, 5-2 1/4) and Morgan Lutton (1.53m, 5-0 1/4) placed fourth and sixth, respectively.

Distance runners Isabelle Uganski and Brooke Hildebrandt had two Top-10 finishes each. Uganski was sixth in the mile (5:37.79) and fourth in the 3,000 (10:48.91). Hildebrandt took seventh in the mile (5:47.06) and eighth in the 3,000 (12:13.14).

Bailey McCulloch had a fourth-place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:24.85.

SHU's 4x400 relay team placed third, consisting of Jocie Berry, Aveona Edwards, McCulloch and Richards (4:09.79).
