MARION, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's pole vaulters claimed three All-American awards on Wednesday's opening day of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which began at Indiana Wesleyan.
Erica Albrecht led the trio with a third-place finish, reaching 3.80 meters (12 feet, 5 1/2 inches). Margherita Conrad was fourth at 3.75m (12-3 3/4) and Chasity Mies finished eighth at 3.65m (11-11 3/4).
Samantha Nowell also competed in the vault, tying for 11th with a height of 3.45m (11-3 3/4). Tyler Fugate was qualified for the event, but unable to compete.
Linnearia Richards ran the 400-meter hurdles at Nationals, finishing 10th among 23 runners. Her prelimary time was 1:03.13.
The Saints will have a pair of women competing later this week as Faith Jackson runs the 100 hurdles on Thursday and Emma Valentine works the high jump on Friday.
