Siena Heights pole vaulter Tyler Fugate was named NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics on Wednesday. Earlier in the week, she claimed the top women's field athlete honor within the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. 

Fugate led a strong day by SHU's pole vault squad as five different women hit NAIA automatic-qualifying heights at the Don Kleinow Invitational on Friday. Her vault of 3.95 meters (12 feet, 11 1/2 inches) led the field and currently ranks No. 1 in the NAIA.
