Conrad Places Runner-Up as Three Vaulters Claim All-American Status at NAIA Indoors

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Margherita Conrad placed runner-up in the women's pole vault, leading a trio of Saints vaulters who earned All-American status, during Friday's action at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Tyler Fugate was fourth and Erica Albrecht took fifth to join Conrad on the All-America list. Conrad and Fugate had top heights of 3.87 meters (12 feet, 8 1/2 inches). Albrecht cleared 3.82m (12-6 1/2). Conrad earned second place via tiebreaker over third-place Ashley VerPlank (Cornerstone) and Fugate.

Two other SHU vaulters finished in the Top 10. They were Samantha Nowell (ninth) and Chasity Mies (10th). Both cleared 3.62m (11-10 1/2).

The Saints had a pair of hurdlers compete in the 60-meter-hurdle prelims on Friday.

Faith Jackson was 10th in 8.66 seconds and Linnearia Richards finished 30th in 9.07.

The NAIA Championships will wrap up on Saturday.
