Richards Snags Two Top 5s, Provisional for #13 Women's Track and Field on Day Two of WHAC Indoors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Siena Heights runner Linnearia Richards recorded a pair of Top 5 finishes and was also part of a Top 3 relay team as the Siena Heights women's indoor track and field team wrapped up competition on Saturday at the WHAC Championships. The Saints placed fifth in the team standings.

Richards placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.04 seconds and fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:00.26. Her time in the hurdles was an NAIA provisional-qualifying mark.

Teammate Faith Jackson was fourth in the 60 hurdles with an NAIA auto time of 8.92 seconds. She already held an auto bid.

Bailey McCulloch was third in the 800 with a time of 2:27.13.

The Saints' 4x400 relay squad of Rachel Rose, Alexis Cordle, McCulloch and Richards wrapped up the event with a third-place finish in 4:11.42.

The Saints had 10 honorees named to the Academic All-WHAC squad. They were Cordle, Tyler Fugate, Xochitl Garcia, Erin Gotha, Brianna Hatfield, Emily Monroe, Samantha Nowell, Samantha Scott, Morgan Turk and Isabelle Uganski.

Scott was also selected to the WHAC Champions of Character Team.

Siena Heights will compete next at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will take place March 2-4 in Brookings, S.D.
