Pole Vault Group Has Impressive Showing For Women's T&F

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's pole vaulters, led by event-winner Tyler Fugate, had an impressive showing with five NAIA automatic-qualifying performances Friday during the Warrior Invitational at Indiana Tech.

Fugate's winning height of 3.98 meters was a season-best vault, improving on her previously earned A-qualifier status.

Erica Albrecht, Samantha Nowell and Margherita Conrad tied for second at 3.62 meters and Chasity Mies finished in a tie for fifth at 3.52. Conrad, whose best vault is 3.65, had already qualified for Nationals. Albrecht, Nowell and Mies surpassed the A-standard for the first time this season.

Emma Valentine punched her ticket to NAIAs in the high jump with a winning height of 1.67 meters. She had previously been a provisional qualifier.

Faith Jackson placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with an NAIA auto time of 8.95 seconds. She was already a qualifier with a season-best 8.81.

Erin Gotha finished third in the weight throw with 15.09 meters. Alexis Cordle ran to fourth in the 800 in 2:33.76.

Siena Heights' 4,000 distance medley relay team was second in 13:25.70. Team members included Emily Monroe, Bailey McCulloch, Cordle and Morgan Turk.
