Five Saint Women Compete During First Day of NCAA Outdoor National Championships

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Siena Heights women's track and field team had five student-athletes compete on the first day of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Outdoor National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama, on Wednesday.

Samantha Nowell competed in the pole vault on day one. Nowell cleared the bar at 3.45m to finish 12th in the event.

The women's 4x100 relay team consisting of Elisa Blackmon-Todd, McKenna Russell, Faith Jackson, and Chelsea Short finished their preliminary race with a time of 47.91 to place 18th. Unfortunately, that time was not enough to advance the team to the final race on Friday.

Faith Jackson will race in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles on day two of the national meet. That event is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, May 26.
