Samantha Nowell and 4x100 Relay Team Hit NAIA Standards at Carius/Gregory Invitational

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – On Thursday, a select group of Siena Heights women's track and field athletes competed at the Carius/Gregory Invitational in Naperville, Illinois.

Samantha Nowell led the way for the Saints with an A-Standard mark in the pole vault after she cleared the bar at 3.65m to finish the event in fourth place. The SHU 4x100 relay team consisting of Elisa Blackmon-Todd, McKenna Russell, Faith Jackson, and Chelsea Short recorded a B-Standard time of 48.14 to finish sixth.

Jenna Salek, Tiffani Larder, Russell, and Short finished fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:02.18. Daijah Hill placed fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.61m.

Brianna Hatfield was the final SHU women's track and field athlete to finish in the top ten after placing sixth in the high jump at 1.56m.

The Saints will compete in the final last chance competition on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14, at St. Francis (Ill.).
