Women’s Track and Field Win Don Kleinow Invitational

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's track and field team won the Don Kleinow Invitational on a windy afternoon with a team score of 131 points on Thursday, April 14. It was the first time since 2018 that SHU hosted the annual outdoor meet inside O'Laughlin Stadium.

Faith Jackson got an A-Standard in the 100 hurdles with her time of 14.51 for second place. Jackson was also fourth in the 100m finals with a time of 12.96.

Daijah Hill won the women's high jump as she cleared the bar at 1.58m to take the victory. Samantha Nowell won the pole vault at a mark of 3.35m.

The 4x100 team of Elisa Blackmon-Todd, Chelsea Short, McKenna Russell, and Jackson, and the 4x400 team of Russell, Tiffani Larder, Jenna Salek, and Chelsea Short won their respective races. The 4x100 team crossed the finish line in 50.48, while the 4x400 was done in 4:10.43.

Short was second in the 200m with a time of 25.78. She also had a third-place finish in the 400m with a 1:00.22. Xochitl Garcia ran the 5k in 18:54.59 to place second in the event. Emily Monroe earned second in the steeplechase with a time of 12:45.39. Larder was second in the long jump with a best leap of 5.25m. She also finished third in the triple jump with a 10.19m.

Salek finished third in the 200 with a 26.37 and fourth in the 400 with a 1:00.97. Brooke Beyer earned third in the shot put with a heave of 11.29m.

Morgan Turk was fourth in the 1500 with a 5:16.85. Brianna Hatfield placed fourth in the high jump with a 1.50m mark. Skyler Beals finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 11.29m.

Blackmon-Todd completed the 200m in 26.71 for a fifth-place showing. Erin Gotha threw the hammer 41.28m for fifth place in the event.
