Samantha Nowell Earns NAIA All-America in Pole Vault After Day Two of Indoor Track and Field National Championships

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Siena Heights sophomores Samantha Nowell and Faith Jackson competed during day two of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Indoor Track and Field National Championships on Friday. Nowell competed in the pole vault while Jackson ran in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles.

Nowell highlighted the afternoon for SHU as she finished fourth in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 3.67m. That placing earned her the distinction of being an NAIA All-American while setting a personal-best mark in the pole vault.

Jackson ran the 60m hurdles in 9.07 to place 25th in the preliminary race. Unfortunately, that time will not advance her to the final race during tomorrow's competition.
