Women's Indoor Track and Field Competes at Red, White, & Blue Track Classic

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's indoor track and field team competed at the Red, White, & Blue Track Classic at The Lab in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Friday afternoon. The Saints had five athletes win their respective events. There were also seven personal records (PR) set by SHU women's track and field competitors during the meet. 

Xochitl Garcia set a PR in the 5,000m run with a time of 18:42.39, which won the event for her. Faith Jackson won the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.17. Jackson also had two sixth-place finishes in the 60m dash (8.08) and the 200m (27.14). Alexis Cordle finished the 600m with a time of 1:46.20 to win the event. Cordle also raced in the 800m, where she finished eighth with a time of 2:46.29. McKenna Russell won the 400m when she crossed the finish line at 1:01.71. Russell also ran the 200m, where she finished fourth with a PR of 26.86. Samantha Nowell was the final Saint to win her event when she cleared the bar in the pole vault at 3.33m. 

Samantha Scott tied with teammate Brianna Hatfield for second in the high jump. Both Scott and Hatfield cleared the bar at 1.55m to share their standing.

Brianna Martin set a PR in the 3,000m run with a time of 11:41.80. That mark earned Martin third in the race standings.

Isabelle Uganski ran the 5,000m run in 20:37.14 to claim fourth. Morgan Turk also finished fourth in the mile with a PR of 5:41.00.

Jezra Reyes set a PR in the 600m with 1:53.18 to place fifth. Daijah Hill fell to fifth in the high jump with a 1.55m.

Gotha was in the weight throw and finished with a toss of 13.93m, a PR, which earned her sixth.
