Women's Track and Field Finishes 3rd at Hillsdale Open

HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's indoor track and field team competed at the Hillsdale College Open on Saturday, January 22. The Saints finished third in the team standings with a team total of 59.5 points.

Jenna Salek had a fantastic meet for SHU as she finished first in both the 200 meter and 400-meter runs while also placing fifth in the 60-meter dash. Salek's finish in the 200 was 27.31, and her winning time in the 400 came in at 1:03.77. Daijah Hill won the high jump event with a PR height of 1.64m to be the only other Saint to finish atop the standings for the day.

Elissa Blackmon-Todd recorded a pair of top-three finishes in the 60-meter dash (2nd, 8.26) and the 200-meter run (3rd, 27.57). Faith Jackson finished second in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.22. She had a third-place rank in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.31 seconds. McKenna Russell was the final SHU woman to earn second with a 1:05.37 time in the 400-meter run. Russell also finished fourth in the 60-meter dash (8.39) and the 200 (28.42).

Brooke Beyer threw the shot put 12.00m to finish fourth in the seventh. Madelyn Birmingham and Brianna Hatfield each registered at fifth in their respective events. Birmingham crossed the finish line in the 200 at 29.83 for her placing, and Hatfield cleared the bar in the high jump at 1.54m for hers.
