Women's Track and Field Finishes 2nd at Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's track and field team finished with 144 points to claim second in the team standings at the Aquinas Jamboree #3 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Kierra Rice won both the 60-meter dash and the 60 hurdles. Her time in the 60-meter was 8.18 and the hurdles time was 9.00. She also was third in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.65.

The 4x400 relay team consisting of McKenna Russell, Stephanie Reed, Alexis Cordle, and Chelsea Short won the race with 4:15.54. Mehgan Godfrey won the triple jump with a leap of 10.46m and third in the long jump with a mark of 4.76m.

Emily Monroe finished second in the 1,000m with a time of 3:15.83. Tyler Fugate was second in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 3.72m.

Xochitl Garcia completed the 3,000m in 11:25.22 for third place. Baleigh Irelan was third in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.73. Brianna Hatfield cleared the high jump bar at 1.53m to claim third. 

Harneet Singh ran the 600m in 1:55.04 for fourth. Alexis Cordle was also fourth. She finished the 800m in 2:31.24.

Stephanie Reed was fifth in the 60m with a time of 8.36. Chelsea Short was fifth in the 400m with a time of 1:03.21. Emily Monroe finished the mile in 5:31.07 to claim fifth in the event. Rachel Wiltse was fifth in the 3,000m with a finish of 12:09.77. Kaylee Kneemiller was fifth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 10.64. Samantha Scott was fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.53m. Samantha Nowell cleared the pole vault bar at 3.27m for fifth. Manon Lutzke was fifth in both the shot put (10.61m) and the weight throw (13.57m).

The Saints compete in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Indoor Championships next week back at Aquinas.
