Julia Forbes Highlights NAIA Nationals For Saints With All-America Performance

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Seven members of the Siena Heights women's indoor track and field team competed in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Brookings S.D. Julia Forbes highlighted the outing with a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.77m to earn All-America status. She also competed in the triple jump where she had an 11.07m mark for 23rd.

Kierra Rice missed the finals of the 60-meter hurdles by .01 seconds finishing ninth in the event in 8.82. Jaymz Gibson was 12th in the pole vault with a mark of 3.57m. Asia Gardner missed the finals in two events, finishing 12th in the 200-meter dash and 14th in the 60-meter dash. Stephanie Reed finished 17th in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.60m.

Chelsea Short finished the 400-meter dash in 58.91 for 22nd in the preliminaries while Delaney Stersic was 27th in the 400 with a time of 59.94.

The Saints will transition to the outdoor season and return to competition on Saturday, March 28 in the Davenport Invitational in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
