Five Saint Women's Track and Field Student-Athletes Auto-Qualify at Saginaw Valley State

SAGINAW, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's indoor track and field team had five student-athletes auto-qualify at Saginaw Valley State on Friday for the SVSU Holiday Open and Multis. Asia Gardner led the way for the Saints with an A-Standard, winning, time in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.65. She also had a B-Standard mark in the second-place finish of 25.44 in the 200m.

Andrea Crowe hit an A-Standard in the 5k to win the event with a finish of 12:57.33. Kierra Rice won the 60-meter hurdles with an A-Standard time of 8.74. Julia Forbes had two top-three finishes on the day. The first was a win in the long jump with an A-Standard leap of 5.73m (18' 9.75"); the second, a second-place hop of 10.83m (35' 6.5") in the triple jump. Jaymz Gibson was the final female Saint to auto with a second-place finish in the pole vault as she cleared the bar at 3.52m (11' 6.5").

Rachel Wiltse finished behind Crowe in the 5k with a time of 21:12.99 for second place. Stephanie Reed cleared the high-jump bar at 1.59m (5' 2.5") for runner up in the event. The 4x400 relay team consisting of Gardner, Harris, Cordle, and Stersic was third with a time of 4:10.66. Abigail Bansen also had a third-place result in the triple jump with a mark of 10.53m (34' 6.75").

Siena Heights will return to SVSU on January 10 for the SVSU Classic that is scheduled for that Friday.
