Five Saint Women's Track and Field Student-Athletes Earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors

KANSAS CITY -- Five members of the Siena Heights women's track and field team were among the 516 women's track and field student-athletes named 2019 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Emily Hill, Haley Hudson, Jaymz Gibson, Michayla Miller, and Rachel O'Neill represented SHU on the list that was announced by the national office on Friday evening.

In order to be nominated by an institutiona student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Indiana Tech led all member schools from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) with 10 student-athletes on the list. Aquinas was right behind them with nine selections. Cornerstone had eight women named Scholar-Athletes. Siena Heights and Rochester tied with five while Madonna and Concordia (Mich.) rounded out the league list with four and three respectively.
