Siena Heights junior Jaymz Gibson was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's field athlete of the week by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is Gibson's first conference field athlete of the week award this season.

The junior from Britton, Michigan beat out 35 other student-athletes to win the women's javelin at the Grand Valley State University Al Owens Classic with a toss of 38.52m (126' 4"). That mark was over 2 meters further than the next-best mark in the competition.
