Saints Women's Track and Field Team Place Third at WHAC Indoor Championships
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The 11th-ranked Siena Heights women's track and field team finished third in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) indoor track and field championships with a total of 141 points. Mildrenae Young-Brooks highlighted the Saints day with a win in the 60-meter hurdles with an "A" standard time of 8.60 to earn All-WHAC First Team honors. She also earned third in the long jump with an "A" standard jump of 5.69m (18' 8") and a fourth-place appearance in the triple jump with a launch of 11.25m (36' 11"), a "B" standard.
 
Haley Hudson was also crowned WHAC champion in the shot put with another "A" standard throw of 14.31m (46' 11.5"). Rachel O'Neill was crowned the weight throw champion with a launch of 15.91m (52' 2.5"), a "B" standard. She also received bronze in the shot put with a throw of 12.61m (41' 4.5").
 
Kierra Rice finished behind Young-Brooks in the 60-meter hurdles with an "A" standard time of 8.86 to earn a spot on the second team All-WHAC roster. The 4x400 relay team consisting of Madisyn Kleinschmit, Delaney Stersic, Emily Hill, and Young-Brooks also made the second-place pedestal with a time of 4:03.59 ("B" standard). Hannah Cain and Courtney Taylor also added second-place finishes in their respective events. Cain cleared the bar in the pole vault at a "B" standard height of 3.42m (11' 25"); Taylor finished second in the shot put with a heave of 12.95m (42' 6").
 
Asia Gardner won third in 60-meter hurdles with an "A" standard 7.69 mark. Delaney Stersic (400m, 59.76) and Emily Couture (weight throw, 4th, 14.75m [48' 4.75"]) claimed fourth in their events. Jaymz Gibson (pole vault, 3.12m [10' 2.75"]), Casie Nadasky (800m, 2:27.50), Veyola Kenyi (high jump, 1.57m [5' 1.75"]), and Julia Forbes (long jump, 5.58m [18' 3.75']) each finished fifth in their events. The 4x800 team consisting of Kelsey Hunt, Selena Ingram, Harneet Singh, and Michayla Miller was also fifth with a time of 10:48.62.
