Siena Heights women's track and field athletes Mildrenae Young-Brooks and Haley Hudson captured both of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) athletes of the week award this week as announced by the league office.
Young-Brooks was tabbed the women's track athlete of the week after she won both the 60-meter hurdles (8.69) and the triple jump (11.37m [37' 3.75"]) at the Aquinas Little Meet this past Saturday. Both of her marks in the 60-meter hurdles and the triple jump were "A" standard marks in the NAIA. The senior from Flint, Michigan also finished second in the 60-meter dash with a "B" standard time of 7.83 to complete this week's outing.
Hudson won the shot put on Saturday. She once again threw an "A" standard mark, this week she tallied a heave of 14.25m (46' 9"). This is her fifth win in the shot put so far this indoor season.
This is the second athlete of the week selection for Hudson; the first for Young-Brooks.
The Saint women's track and field team will be in action this Saturday at the WHAC Indoor Championships hosted by Aquinas College.
