Gardner Claims Second WHAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week Honor

Siena Heights women's track and field sprinter Asia Gardner was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Gardner was the top-NAIA finisher in both the 60m dash and the 200m dash, taking second place in both events behind an unattached runner. She earned an automatic bid in both events as she finished the 60m in 7.68 seconds in the final and a season-best of 7.67 seconds in the prelims to rank second in the NAIA; she then finished the 200m in 25.10 seconds as she ranks second in the NAIA.

Gardner also managed a provisional standard in the long jump with a distance of 5.49m.

This is the second WHAC weekly award that Gardner has received.
