Women's Track & Field Win Otterbein Invitational

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- The third-ranked Siena Heights women's track and field team took home first place in the Otterbein Twilight Invitational on Friday. A few SHU individuals also competed in the Jesse Owens Invitational hosted by Ohio State University. The Saints had seven first place finishes and six improved automatic performances.

Siena Heights won at Otterbein with 214 points; host Otterbein finished in second with 129 points.

Stephanie Marquardt finished first, to improve her NAIA auto-time, in the 100m hurdles at 13.81 seconds -- 1.43 seconds faster than the second place performer.

In the high jump, Marissa Johnson took first and improved her auto-height to 1.70m.

Madison Pierce flew 5.76m in the long jump to finish first.

Kasey Renshaw finished first and second in the shot put and hammer throw, respectively.In the shot out, she threw 14.13 meters after throwing 55.68m in the hammer throw. Haley Hudson finished second in the shot put and took first in the javelin. After throwing 12.27 meters in the shot put, she threw 36.37 meters in the javelin. Both Renshaw and Hudson improved their shot put distances.

Rebecca Cousineau finished first in the discus throw with a 41.12 meter toss. She also improved her hammer throw auto-distance to 51.80 meters.

The 4x100m relay team finished first in 48.51 seconds.

At the Jesse Owens Invitational, Phoenix Duncan was the Saints top individual finisher. Duncan improved her auto-height to 1.73 meters in the high jump to tie for second place.

Next up, the Saints will travel to the Gina Relays, hoted by Hillsdale, for events Thursday through Saturday.
