Women's T&F Finds Success at the Don Kleinow Invite

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's track and field team had 12 automatic-qualifying performances, seven first place performances and two provisional performances at the Siena Heights Don Kleinow Invitational on Saturday.

Stephanie Marquardt finished the 100m hurdle in 13.89 seconds, 1.10 seconds faster than the second place competitor did, to earn first and an automatic bid. 

The Saints fought for the top three positions in the high jump. Phoenix Duncan won outright clearing the bar at an auto-qualifying height of 1.68m. Davenport took second at 1.65 meters, the same height as SHU's Marissa Johnson and Amber Koprin provisional-height.

Long-jumper Madison Pierce flew 5.88 meters to earn first place and automatic bid.

Kasey Renshaw dominated the hammer throw with an automatic-qualifying toss of 60.41 meters. Fellow Saint, Rebecca Cousineau took second after throwing 47.92m.

 Ashley O'Neill comfortably took first place by throwing an auto-distance of 43.79m.

In the triple jump, Mildrenae Young took first place and an auto-qualifying bid and jumping a distance of 11.65m. In second place for the Saints was Charlena Williams at 10.98 meters.

Siena finished the 4x100m relay in 47.27 seconds for an automatic qualifying bid and first place. Relay members were J. Johnson, Marquardt, Dominique Taylor and Young.

Sisters Sheila McKinley and Tasha McKinley both cleared the bar at an automatic qualifying height of 3.70m to tie for second place.

In the shotput, Renshaw and Haley Hudson finished second and third, respectively, each throwing an auto-qualifying distance. Renshaw threw 13.86m with Hudson close by, tossing 13.61 meters. Hudson took third in javelin throw with a distance of 29.99m.

Jalesia Johnson took first place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.01. She also took third in the 200m dash, crossing the finish line at 25.55 seconds.

In the 100m dash Young took second place at 12.43 seconds while Marquardt finished close behind at 12.68 seconds.

In the 800 meter run, Mariah Ridal finished third in 2:22.25.

The Saints will be back in action when they travel to the Gina Relays hosted by Hillsdale on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
