Women's T&F Opens Outdoor Season with Six Auto Performances

MARIAN, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's track and field team finished with six first place finishes and 11 more top five finishes at the 2016 Knight Invitational at Marian University. The Saints also picked up six automatic-qualifying performances and three provisional-qualifying performances on Friday. 

Kasey Renshaw is currently ranked first in the NAIA in the hammer throw with a first-place, auto-qualifying performance of 180 feet, two inches (55.22m). Haley Hudson finished second in the shot put with a toss of 43-3.75 (13.20m), ranking third in the NAIA. Renshaw is also ranked second in the NAIA with a second-place and auto-qualifying distance of 44, 4.5 (13.52m).

Another automatic-qualifying performance for the Saints was a Phoenix Duncan high jump that cleared the bar at 5 feet, 7.75 inches (1.72 meters), earing first place in the meet and second place ranking in the NAIA.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Stephanie Marquardt finished in first with a time of 14.39 seconds, ranking second in the NAIA, an auto-qualifying time.

Tasha and Sheila McKinley rounded out the auto-qualifying performances by clearing the pole vault bar at 12-1.5 (3.70m), earning second and fourth place, respectively. Both are tied for second in the NAIA.

In the long jump, Madison Pierce flew 18 feet, 2.5 inches (5.55m) in the long jump to earn first place and a provisional-qualifying distance.

Rebecca Cousineau finished fourth in the discus throw with a toss of 142-5 (43.42m), ranking second in the NAIA.

In the triple jump, Mildrenae Young-Brooks finished first with a jump of 35-10.75 (10.81m).

Siena Heights will be back in action on Friday and Saturday when the Saints travel to Michigan State or Bellarmine University (Ky.).
