Marquardt Earns National Title as Women's T&F Takes Fourth

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Stephanie Marquardt and four others Siena Heights women's track and field team received All-American honors on the final day of the 2016 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, on Saturday. Kasey Renshaw took home the Women's Outstanding Performer Award from the meet while the Saints placed fourth overall. 

Marquardt finished first in the 60m hurdles in a commanding fashion, claiming the Champion Title. Finishing in 8.50 seconds, a PR, she beat the second place competitor by 0.22 seconds. 

In the high jump, Marissa Johnson finished in third place after clearing the bar set at 5-7.25 (1.71m). Phoenix Duncan tied for fourth place, clearing the bar set at 5-6 (1.68m). Both Johnson and Duncan earned All-American honors. 

Haley Hudson took home fourth place while Renshaw took eighth, both earning All-American honors in the shot put. Hudson threw 46 feet, 1.5 inches (14.06m) and Renshaw threw 44-10.25 (13.67 meters).

Renshaw earned the Women's Outstanding Performer Award for her record-setting performance in the weight throw on Friday and her All-American honors in the shot put. 

As a team, the Saints finished in fourth place with 59.5 points. They trailed third place Indiana Tech by 1.5 points.
