Siena Heights announces Andrew "Drew" Crawford as the head coach for the men's soccer team, set to begin his role Feb. 1, 2018.

Drew Crawford was an assistant coach for the Siena Heights women's soccer program for six seasons (2012-2017), bringing 27 years of coaching experience to the squad. A 1989 SHU graduate, Crawford is a former Siena Heights men’s soccer player and ranks second on the Saints’ all-time scoring list with 169 points. The 1999 Siena Heights Hall-of-Fame inductee is also second in goals (70) and assists (29).

Crawford was named to the NAIA All-America Team in 1987 and 1988, was NAIA All-Region in 1986, 1987 and 1988, and was NAIA All-District in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988. Then, in 1989, he was named Most Valuable Player of the 1989 NAIA Senior Bowl.

Following his four years at SHU, Crawford had a 10-year professional career including two seasons in which he was a National Professional Soccer League all-star. He played for several teams, including the Denver Thunder, Arizona Sandsharks, Detroit Rockers, Buffalo Blizzard and Detroit Ignition.

His 24-year coaching career includes a United States Soccer Federation B-License and experience with teams in three states. In Colorado, he coached Smoky Hill High School, the Cherry Creek Soccer Club and the Aurora Soccer Club; in New York, he coached the Buffalo Premier Soccer Club and was head coach for Hilbert College (1996-2001); and in Michigan, he is coaching for the Canton Soccer Club.

Crawford, and his wife Trish reside in Canton, Mich., along with their three children, Ian, Morgan and Caleb.
