Young, Broman Score as Women's Soccer Wins NAIA Opening Round Game over Trinity Christian

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- Marissa Young and Emily Broman scored goals as the Siena Heights women's soccer team defeated Trinity Christian, 2-1, in an NAIA Tournament Opening Round game at Spring Arbor on Thursday.

Young scored the first goal in the 36th minute, getting an assist from Lily Tiplady to give the Saints (15-0-6) the lead for good. Broman tacked on her insurance goal, with an assist from Maddie Morris, in the 55th.

Trinity Christian pulled within one with 40 seconds remaining before SHU ran out the clock.

Siena Heights goalie Caitlyn Harwood had one save.

The Saints outshot TCC, 22-6, and held a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.

Next Up, The Saints will take on Spring Arbor on Saturday at 2 p.m.
