LIMA, Ohio – The Siena Heights women's soccer team advances to the semifinal round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference with a 2-1 win over UNOH on Wednesday afternoon. The fifth-seeded Saints scored two unanswered goals to earn the victory over the Racers.
UNOH hopped out to a quick 1-0 lead after a shot beat Caitlyn Harwood (W, 7-2-3) in the game's fourth minute. Lily Tiplady knotted things up in the 25th minute after scoring on a pass from the top of the box to shake the nets. Erin Tyson and Emily Broman were credited with assists on the play.
Coming out of the 1-1 halftime score, Olivia Emert put her stamp on the game with a goal off a Broman pass to give SHU the lead that would determine the game's outcome.
The Saints registered three shots on target in a game where they dominated the game with a 14-8 edge in shots. Harwood made five saves to preserve the win for Siena Heights.
