GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team fell 5-2 at No. 15 Aquinas in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference road contest.

Marissa Young gave SHU the lead with a goal in the first minute of play after she beat the keeper off a pass from Lily Tiplady that crossed in from the wing. The Saints held the score there for the next 16 minutes before Aquinas scored to tie things up. Another goal by the home team in the 40th minute put the score at 2-1, Aquinas. The score would stay there through halftime.

Aquinas capitalized on three more scoring opportunities in the second half with goals in the 58th, 63rd, and 88th minute to pull away. Parker Cheney scored the second goal of her career in the final two minutes to put the score where it would stand as time expired.

Young, Tiplady, and Cheney recorded the shots on goal for SHU. Cheney led with three shots while Tiplady and Young registered one.

Quote From Coach: "I am proud of how hard our team played. We fought tooth and nail, but they finished their chances."
