ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team scored three second-half goals to push past fifth-seeded Lourdes in the quarterfinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament inside O'Laughlin Stadium on Wednesday night. The Saints (13-4-2) win their first game this season without registering a shutout to advance to the WHAC tournament semifinals.

Marissa Young led the way for SHU with four shots on goal while also netting the go-ahead goal early in the second half. Sarah Ammon scored the first goal of the game while contributing two shots on goal. Kennedy Hyde and Allie Balasico each tallied two shots on goal. Balasico scored the game-winning goal on her second shot. Kaleigh Mahaz scored on her only shot on goal. Kara Bishop (W, 12-3-2) got her 12th win of the season in net for the Saints. That win total moves her to fifth all-time for career victories.

Ammon's goal was scored on a header in the 24th minute from a perfect cross into the box by Hyde that beat Lourdes goalkeeper, Emmy Rodger (L, 4-4-5) top-shelf. The Gray Wolves tied things up with a goal off a SHU clear attempt that was intercepted and beat Bishop left in the 30th minute. The Saints dictated the pace as they outshot Lourdes 16-2 in the first 45-minute period.

Young scored an unassisted goal at the 58:23 mark when she dribbled around a defender to the top of the box and drilled the ball into the net to give SHU a 2-1 lead. Balasico scored off a scramble in front of the net and tapped the ball into the net for the 3-1 lead. Chloe Shaffer cut the lead in half for the Gray Wolves with a score on an empty net as Bishop rushed an attacker who crossed the ball into the box over her head. Mahaz put the nail in the coffin with a beautiful curved shot on a corner kick that tucked into the net just behind the far post.

Much like the first half, the Saints outshot the visitors 10-2 to allow a total of four shots all game (only two shots on goal).
