Kara Bishop Earns Second WHAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Award

Siena Heights senior goalkeeper Kara Bishop was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's soccer defensive player of the week by the league office this afternoon.

Bishop added her eighth shutout victory of the season in a 2-0 win over Lawrence Tech on Wednesday, October 13. It was the 18th shutout of her career and places her seventh on the all-time career shutouts list for SHU. She also made eight saves in the nothing-nothing tie-in double overtime against Madonna to finish the week a perfect 13-13 in shots faced between the posts.

This is the Allegan, Michigan native's second WHAC women's soccer defensive player of the week award for her career. It is the fourth WHAC player of the week award for SHU women's soccer (the third defensive player of the week honor) this season.

Bishop will lead the Saints in a WHAC showdown against Cornerstone on the road this Wednesday, October 20 at 4:30 p.m.
