ADRIAN, Mich. -- Junior Marissa Young recorded her sixth game-winning goal of the 2021 season as the Saints (10-3-1, 4-2) earned their 10th victory of the year in a 2-0 win over Lawrence Tech. Young's game-winner ties her for fifth all-time for game-winning goals in a single season.

Young led the way with four shots, two on goal, and a score. Isabel Remar scored the insurance goal in the second half while Kennedy Hyde and Isabel Herden each registered an assist on the evening. Maddie Castle had two shots on goal. Hyde, Ashley Kraiza, and Kayla Rivers each had one shot on goal. Kara Bishop (W, 8-2-1) saved all five shots she faced to preserve her eighth shutout win of the season.

The game was scoreless through the opening 45 minutes of play. The Saints dictated the pace and outshot Lawrence Tech 13-3 in the first half. Blue Devil goalie, Rebecca Almandoz (L, 1-6) made all six of her saves in the first frame to keep SHU off the board and maintain the deadlock.

Young broke the tie in the 52nd minute with a goal off a pass from Hyde. Remar then put the game away with a goal off Herden's assist at 66:14. Bishop made two saves in the second half to protect her shutout victory as the Saints improve to 4-2 in league play this season.
