Siena Heights junior women's soccer player Marissa Young was voted the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's soccer offensive player of the week by the league on Monday afternoon.
Young had a phenomenal week as she tallied the game-winning goal in both of the Saint victories. The first game-winner came in the 1-0 win over crosstown rival Adrian College on Wednesday, September 1. The second was the first goal of a hat trick in a 4-0 blowout win over Kentucky Christian on Saturday, September 4.
This is Young's first WHAC player of the week award for the 2021 season and the second of her career. Young is the first SHU women's soccer player to earn WHAC player of the week so far this season.
The Genoa, Ohio native will lead the Saints on the road against Huntington next Saturday, September 11. That game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
