18th-Ranked Aquinas Shut Out Saints in Final Regular Season Game

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team lost 3-0 to WHAC opponent 18th-Ranked Aquinas on Monday afternoon. Kara Bishop led the Saints as she made eight saves off the 11 shots on goal she faced in net.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Aquinas struck first when they scored a goal nine minutes into the game as Macy Hollingsworth received a cross outside the box from Hannah Crum and beat Kara Bishop on the right side. That duo came back for Aquinas at the 26:17 mark as Hannah Crum made a pass at the top of the box to Macy Hollingsworth finding the back of the net earning them the 2-0 lead at the half. SHU only had one shot on goal in the first half from Jennifer Richmond but was saved by Braeleigh McCoy.

Aquinas had their third goal of the game at 74:26 as Sydney Shenk had a short cross in the box from a corner kick by Breanna Probst and slotted it past Kara Bishop. Siena only had three shots in the second half, one of which was on goal by Jennifer Richmond but was not able to put it past Braeleigh McCoy earning Aquinas the 3-0 win.

• Jennifer Richmond had two shots on goal.

Marissa Young tallied two shots.

Kennedy Barr and Emily Broman respectively recorded a shot.

THE OPPOSITION

• Macy Hollingsworth led Aquinas with two goals.

• Sydney Shenk earned a goal.

• Hannah Crum had two assists and Breanna Probst had one.

The Saints will wait for all WHAC opponents to finish their regular-season games to see if they made it into the WHAC Tournament. They currently sit in seventh place out of 11 teams.
