Saints Dominate Rochester in First Spring Home Contest

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team was victorious 4-0 against WHAC opponent Rochester in the team's first home game of the spring schedule.

Records: Siena Heights (3-4, 3-3 WHAC) | Rochester (1-8, 0-7 WHAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Saints set the pace in the first half as they got their first goal on the board at the 12:24 mark as Isabel Remar received a pass into the box from Berenice Huette Moncelet that allowed her to beat Skylar Zaranek in goal. Siena struck again when Marissa Young took a shot at the top outside of the box that found the back of the net at the 25:51 mark to put them in the 2-0 lead at the half.

SHU kept the momentum going in the second half as Jennifer Richmond had a pass inside the box from Macy Llewellyn and slotted it past Zaranek at the 59:29 mark. The Saints earned their final goal of the game at the 62:10 mark when Hannah Moening took a shot that was saved by Zaranek and Faith Patania scored off the rebound save. SHU's defense held Rochester to only one shot in the entire game as they recorded 39 shots. 

TOP SAINTS

• Richmond, Young, Patania, and Remar each had a goal.

• Llewellyn, Moening, and Huette Moncelet all recorded an assist.

THE OPPOSITION

• Katie Barraco had the Warrior's only shot in the game.

•  Skylar Zaranek made 21 saves from the 25 shots she faced in net.
