Strong First Half Propels Women's Soccer to Homecoming Success Over CU

ADRIAN, Mich. – A strong first half helped the Siena Heights women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe Cornerstone, on Saturday during Homecoming week.

The Saints struck early as Samantha Bartelotti beat the CU goalkeeper to set up Taylor Mulder for the first goal on the day 7:33 into the match. Emily Burkman flew a 50-yard pass into Bartelotti who chest trapped it, giving Julia Stancato the perfect ball for the far post finish. Kathryn Gordon scored the final first half goal for SHU, heading in a cross from an Ashley Strong free kick.

In the second half, Danielle Eastman slotted a Mulder pass under the CU keeper to give the Saints their final goal on the day.
