Women's Soccer Hosts USF and Madonna to Open WHAC Action

The Siena Heights women's soccer team is set to host two games this week, starting with Saint Francis (Ind.) in a 7 p.m. contest on Tuesday. Then SHU will host Madonna in the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match of the season with a 4:30 p.m. kickoff, on Saturday.

Currently, the Saints are 2-4 on the season with victories over Lindenwood-Belleville and Mount Vernon Nazarene, last Saturday. USF is 6-2 on their season overall, defeating WHAC foe Indiana Tech, 3-2 in double overtime, while falling to Madonna 5-0. Madonna is on a five-game win-streak after the season opening tie they had against Huntington (Ind.), to sit at 5-0-1 this season.

Last time the Saints and Saint Francis faced each other was Sept. 20, 2016 in Fort Wayne. SHU won 3-1 with goals from Danielle Eastman, Erin Scheidel and Taylor Mulder with Taylor Hill stopping five shots in net.

Siena Heights opened conference play at Madonna last season with a 2-0 victory. Goals came from Kathryn Gordon and Emily Loar while Hill made three saves. Prior to playing SHU, the Crusaders will face NCAA Div. II opponent Ferris State, on Wednesday.
