Bartelotti Lifts Women's Soccer Over Concordia in WHAC Tournament Quarterfinal

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Samantha Bartelotti scored two goals and notched an assist for the Siena Heights women's soccer team as the Saints defeated Concordia 3-0 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Conference Tournament quarterfinal round, on Wednesday.

Siena Heights (12-5-2) netted the first goal in the seventh minute when Bartelotti sent a pass through the six yard box, drawing out the CUAA keeper, to Taylor Mulder who finished on an open net.The 1-0 score held into halftime.

The Saints broke the silence in the 54th minute as Bartelotti shot from outside over the keeper's head and far post. She struck again in the 60th minute when she finished low, far post on a shot from inside the 18 yard box.

Mulder led the Saints with six shots, two on frame, while Bartelotti had five shots, two on goal. For the Cardinals, Heather Emke and Lora Palushaj each finished with three shots.

Winning goal-keeper Meghan Bogg stopped eight shots in net for the Saints, while Maria Lulgjuraj made three saves.

Concordia (10-9-0) ended with 16 shots, most from outside the 18 yard box, while the Saints only had 14 shots. CUAA also held a 5-1 corner kick advantage.

The Saints will be back in action in the WHAC Tournament semifinal round at No. 6 Northwestern Ohio. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5.
