Eastman Goal Lifts #16 Women's Soccer to Victory

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Danielle Eastman scored a double overtime goal to lift the 16th-ranked Siena Heights women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over WHAC opponent Davenport, on Saturday. 

The Saints and Panthers were scoreless after 90 minutes in regulation time. In the first half, SHU outshot DU, 9-4, and continued to outshoot them 9-2 in the second half. Also in regulation time, the Saints held a 7-2 corner-kick advantage over the Panthers.

In the first ten minutes of overtime, Eastman had two shots on frame, not finding the net until the second overtime. In the 105th minute, Eastman finished a shot into the side-netting from the top of the 18 yard box. Mulder was given the assist. 

Saints' goalkeeper Meghan Bogg made one save to earn the shutout win. Tara Gessler stopped nine shots in net for the Panthers (5-9-1, 2-7-0).

SHU outshot the Panthers, 23-8, and held a 7-3 corner-kick advantage.

Siena Heights will be back in action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday for the final regular season home match against Madonna.
