#18 Women's Soccer Headed to WHAC Final after Win over CU

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The 18th-ranked Siena Heights women's soccer team claimed a 3-0 victory over Cornerstone in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal at O'Laughlin Stadium on Saturday. With the win, the Saints claimed their first berth in the WHAC Tournament final since 2011.

The second-seeded Saints (15-3-2) struck for two goals in the first 11 minutes -- one by Samantha Bartelotti and then another by Carlee Pallett.

Bartelotti gave SHU the lead in the ninth minute and assisted Pallett's tally in the 11th.

The Saints' tacked on their third goal in the 51st when Jori Bitter scored with assists from Pallett and Kelsey Young.

Siena Heights goalkeeper Crystal Wilcoxen made one save in nearly 80 minutes of action to earn the win.

As a team, the Saints have recorded 15 shutouts on the season. They have gone 557 minutes and 45 seconds without allowing a goal.

Allison Snowden had four saves in goal for sixth-seed Cornerstone (10-5-4).

The Saints will travel to Northwestern Ohio for Friday's WHAC Tournament final. The top-seeded -- and ninth-ranked -- Racers defeated Madonna, 1-0, in their semifinal win on Saturday.
