Women's Soccer Wins Third Straight

OWENSBORO, Ky. -- Alexis Donnelly had two goals and one assist to lead the Siena Heights women's soccer team in its 7-0 non-conference victory over Brescia (Ky.) on Sunday.

Carlee Pallett added one goal and one assist for the Saints (3-0). Samantha Bartelotti, Erin Scheidel, Meagan Mousty and Abbey Marlette also recorded goals.

Pallett opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute before Donnelly put in her first goal, getting an assist from Elizabeth Davis in the 26th.

Bartlelotti's tally in the 49th minute was the first of five second-half goals. She was assisted by Donnelly and Paige Frey.

Donnelly had her second goal in the 61st, getting assists from Pallett and Jori Bitter.

Then, Scheidel, a freshman, had her first collegiate goal with an assist from Alyssa Huff in the 65th. Mousty scored in the 71st on an assist from Becca Penny. Marlette, a senior, added her first goal as a Saint in the 84th minute with an assist from Emily Loar.

Crystal Wilcoxen and Meghan Bogg split time in net. Wilcoxen, who played the first 80 minutes, earned the win.

Siena Heights will return to action with its first two home games of 2014 on Friday and Saturday. The Saints will host their own SHU Classic, taking on Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and Bethel (Ind.).
