Quick Start Helps Women's Soccer to Win over Point Park

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team struck for two goals during the first three minutes of its 3-0 non-conference victory over Point Park (Pa.) on Monday.

Carlee Pallett scored 41 seconds into the contest, getting an assist from Emily Burkman. Samantha Bartelotti followed with SHU's second score at the 2:12 mark; Elizabeth Davis had an assist.

Later, Paige Frey scored an unassisted goal in the 23rd minute to finish out the scoring.

Goalkeeper Crystal Wilcoxen played the first half and earned the win. Taylor Hill made three stops in the second.

Point Park goalies Mackenzie Pinto and Erica Roney made three saves each.

SHU outshot PPU, 20-10, and held a 7-0 corner-kick advantage.

The Saints (2-0) will return to action on Sunday with a 1 p.m. non-conference match at Brescia (Ky.).
