Strong Second Half Lifts SHU Women's Soccer Over Marygrove
ADRIAN, Mich. -- A pair of early second-half goals helped the Siena Heights women's soccer team take a 3-1 decision over Marygrove in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday at O'Laughlin Stadium.

Megan Michels had a goal and an assist for the Saints (8-7-2, 4-3-1) while Jori Bitter and Meagan Mousty tallied solo goals.

Michels gave SHU its first lead in the 38th minute when she raced down the right side and fired a cross into the 18-yard box. The ball was deflected into the net by a Mustang defender.

Jessica McClendon pulled the visitors even at 1-all in the 43rd minute and that score held through halftime.

In the second, Bitter headed in a corner kick that was taken by Michels, giving Siena Heights a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute.

Mousty added her goal in the 54th, finishing her own rebound off a blocked shot.

SHU goalkeeper Crystal Wilcoxen earned the victory with one save. Rachel Gilmore had seven stops for Marygrove (3-14-0, 0-8-0).

The Saints will wrap up their regular season with a 4:30 p.m. WHAC home match against Cornerstone. A SHU win would secure a WHAC Tournament home game for the Saints.
