#10 Women's Lacrosse Takes First Win of 2023 at Saint Thomas (Fla.)

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- The 10th-ranked Siena Heights women's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season with a 14-12 victory over non-conference Saint Thomas (Fla.) on Monday.

Jenna Allie scored five goals and Hannah Merrick contributed four goals and one assist for the Saints (1-2). Catherine Androwski added three goals and one assist.

Abbey Scott and Emily Pringle also had goals. Annamae Martin was credited with one assist and winning goalie Lucy Stedam made 11 saves.

Pringle finished with four draw controls while Avah Holland had three. Shelby Mueller caused three turnovers.

The contest featured six ties before a free-position shot broke a 10-all knot with 44 seconds in the third quarter.

Allie tacked on two more goals, helping SHU close the contest with a 4-2 stretch.

STU was led by Noelle Heggblod, who totaled four goals and one assist.

The Saints will return to action on Wednesday with a noon contest against defending national champ Benedictine (Kan.).
