Kuhns Scores 100th Goal in SHU Victory Over Adrian College

ADRIAN, Mich. –  Across town, the Siena Heights women's lacrosse team, faced off against the Adrian College Bulldogs in a Sunday afternoon game on April 3rd. The Visiting Saints defeated the Bulldogs 21-14, advancing their overall record to 6-6. Junior Alexis Kuhns scored three goals, reaching her 100th career goal during the game. 

Emily Pringle led for SHU with seven goals, shooting 7-for-9 while tallying three assists and two ground balls. Marissa Cirino netted three balls during the game along with two assists and five ground balls. Catherine Androwski (3-for-3) scored three times while picking up one assist, two ground balls, and causing one turnover. Alexis Kuhns (3-for-4) reached her 100th career goal during the game, picking up one ground ball and one assist as well. Courtney Frankfurth shot fifty percent, putting two points on the board and collecting two assists. Madison Spell went 2-for-2 on the day and collected one assist, one ground ball, and caused three turnovers. Kristin Delclos shot 1-for-1 and picked up one ground ball while causing one turnover. Goalie Lucy Stedam (W, 4-5) helped in the Siena victory by saving 10 shots on goal, five coming in fourth quarter. 

The first goal of the game was scored by Adrian College, who put two points on the board in the first five minutes of the quarter. SHU would ramp up offensively, going on a four-goal run in two minutes. The first quarter ended with the Saints leading 5-3.

A tough defense stand from Siena Heights saw two won draw controls and a save from Stedam aide the Saints efforts. By putting three early points on the board, propelling the lead to 9-6. The third quarter saw an exchange of goals between the two teams and an influx of fouls. However, Siena remained in control and outscored the home team during the quarter.

The opening minutes of the final quarter saw a late push from Adrian, who scored three goals in the first six minutes. SHU, however, would not relent, scoring near the eight-minute mark and continuing on a run of five to pull away, leaving the final score 21-14
