Androwski Nets Three Against #5 Ranked Reinhardt

Waleska, Georgia. – Starting of Spring Break week, SHU women's lacrosse traveled down South to face off with the number five ranked team nationally, Reinhardt University. Siena Heights (0-3) currently ranked number seven nationally fell in Monday's game to the Eagles 8-22,  

Catherine Androwski led the blue and yellow with three goals shooting 3-3 on the day. Madison Spell followed with two goals going 2-3 for shots on goal and added two assists to the stat book. Emily Pringle, Alexis Nicole, and Sophia Baugh each scored one goal apiece contributing to the Saints' eight goals. Shelby Mueller and Courtney Frankfurth each caused three ground balls, adding to the team's count of 16 ground balls during the game.

SHU scored first with a shot from Catherine Androwski, the assist went to Madison Spell. Reinhardt soon answered going down the field only 30 seconds later to score their first goal. Each team scored once more in the following 32 seconds jumping the score to 2-2 by the time the game clock struck 12:18. The remainder of the first period saw the of trading of goals between the teams, ending the period with a score of 7-5 in favor of Reinhardt.

Siena saw the back of the net first in the second period after a Reinhardt turnover. Allowing Catherine Androwski to go down the field to make the shot beings assisted once against by Madison Spell. Unfortunately, turnovers plagued the Saints for the remainder of the period allowing the Eagels to further the lead with an additional five goals.

Bad luck continued for the blue and yellow as a yellow card was called allowing a free position shot attempt to be made by the Eagles, which resulted in a goal. During the penalty time, Reinhardt was also able to secure a man-up goal over the Saints. Winning a draw control and heading downfield, Catherine Androwski scored her third goal for the game unassisted. 

A quick win during the opening draw control resulted in a goal from Reinhardt University to open the final period. Six minutes into the fourth period SHU's Madison Spell caught the back of the net, scoring the eighth and final goal for the Saints. The time clock buzzed, leaving the game a tough loss for the Saints and a final score of 22-8.

Up Next -- SHU women's lacrosse remains in the South, traveling to West Point, Georgia to compete against the Point University Skyhawks at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9th.
