Women's Lacrosse Earns First Trip to the NAIA National Invitational in Program History

The Siena Heights women's lacrosse earned an at-large bid to the 2018 NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Invitational, as announced by the governing body on Sunday. The Invitational will take place at Aquinas in Grand Rapids, May 9-12.

The Saints enter the tournament as the No. 7 seed and will face the No. 2 seed Cumberlands (Ky.) on Wednesday, May 9, at 1 p.m. Recently, SHU fell to Lawrence Tech in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal, 13-10. Lawrence Tech enters the Invitational at the No. 4 while Indiana Tech is the final WHAC program making the Invitational, claiming the No. 3 seed.

Other schools in the Invitational are Georgetown (Ga.), Keiser (Fla.), Benedictine (Kan.) and SCAD Savannah (Ga.).

This will be the first apearance for the Saints at the NAIA National Invitational since the inception of the program in 2012.
